Since the techers are sleeping, a mom will answer - yes, techers have time for sports and other ecs. my son, a senior, is on a sports team, is very active in a club, works one day a week tutoring and has time for his girlfriend.

you’ll have to wait for the techers to catch up on their sleep for the answers to your question about economics major. (I don’t think minors are offered at Caltech though I could be wrong).

You can check the Caltech catalog [Caltech 2009-2010 Course Catalog](http://pr.caltech.edu/catalog/) to see the details on minors. A BEM double-major isn’t terribly uncommon, but our management and econ isn’t nearly as good as our sciences.

In order to help you more, it’d be nice if you explained what you ultimately want to do- do you want to go into finance, be an entrepreneur, or go into engineering?

Ambition2010, let me put it this way. There are 24 hours in a day. Say you spend 10 of them working on homework (problem sets, labs, reading whatever) That leaves you 14 hours in a day that are yours to apportion as you choose. You could spend 4 of them going to class, or you could skip all of your classes. You could spend anywhere between 2 and 10 of them sleeping. You could use 2 of them to hang out with people during lunch and dinner. Or you could spend them on whatever sports or activities are important to you. So basically, it’s entirely up to you whether you have time for these things. If you want to go to all you classes and sleep 10 or 12 hours a night, you probably won’t have time for them. Otherwise, you almost certainly will.
Sorry, I don’t know anything much about the social sciences stuff.

My typical day consists of waking up at 3 p.m. and watching adult videos for a few hours. Then I get *ty CDS dinner, which then requires that I spend another hour over the toilet. I then proceed to crank out a problem set in less than four hours. Then I get * drunk on *ty * House beer and cry myself to sleep and dream of a better life.

Uh yeah. Please don’t think all of us lead lives like Techer11. There’s people like that anywhere, who like to blame all their (lack of) girl problems on Tech, instead of the fact they get up at 3, watch hours of porn, and most likely fail to shower regularly.

Unfortunately, whenever you have a very focused school like Tech, you’ll get crazy types of all different kinds, including the bad kind. Thankfully, there’s not many of them, and you don’t need to deal with them.

A lot of people join clubs or sports teams. Sport team practices are usually held after 4, so they’re out of the way of your classes. It’s definitely doable. I really recommend it too since it’s a great way to stay in shape and let loose from all the mental stress.
