Caltech and Sports?

I might be swimming for Caltech and was wondering if it's possible to balance a sport with homework and with life. Any experienced techers? :)

Also, I've taken my basic maths (Calculus AB and BC) but haven't dwelled on any Physics other than Pre-AP (I found it pretty interesting though). Is it true Techers are hard-core physics-lovers? ... In general, is Caltech "survivable"?

Thanks!

Also... how many P.E. credits does one need to graduate?

9 PE Credits. That's 3 3 unit PE courses.

Intercollegiate sports count as PE classes (which is a good thing, because they take up way more than three hours per week!). So if you plan to do a sport for at least three of your years here, you're all set.

I was contacted by the basketball coach yesterday, but can anybody tell me if it is true that Caltech's men basketball is kind of very weak?
And if I was enrolled in the team, will I still get enough time for my homework?

"Kind of weak" is a bit of an understatement, although I believe some of them did appears on that "Numb3rs" show this week. I think they won one nonconference game this year and they haven't won a conference game for 20 some years. They did a film, "Quantum Hoops," about the team. While they have not won a lot of games, they have done some amazing things off the court. Can't tell you what the homework effect is, my son has a friend on the team who says they run constantly, but doesn't every basketball team do that?

Yeah! I had an email that they showed on Numb3rs. :)

I think most of Caltech's sports are Division 3. Okay three years for PE credits, thanks! Anyone on the swim team? :O

the Caltech Men's basketball coach is a great guy
