A day in the life.

@awakeningvenus‌ That must be nice having over 1:00 of travel time a day! I would sleep through all of it! You are really lucky to have such caring parents to drive you over an hour each day! (mine work full time, and crazy hours so I walk most everywhere #thestruggle lol but I’m super thankful they HAVE jobs, cause the unemployment rate in my state isn’t too great…!) Appreciate this while it’s there  Do you have anyone you can carpool with back? Even if they live only 1/2 the way to your house, you parents could still pick you up there and do 1/2 the driving!! Just a thought…

I just really wish I had an extra hour in the day  So much to do, so little time!

Unlike the polyglot of an OP we have here, I stay humbled with my single Spanish language course.

@Spiral7‌ My parents actually have an office close to my school, which is nice. On most days, I do carpool, but it’s hard on Fridays, because no one in SECME lives nearby, so I usually either go to their office after school or they pick me up on their way home.

@Spiral7 nope, I go to a fairly large public school

This is this year, since I’m not really sure what next year will be like… This is a Tuesday or Thursday, by the way, since I believe those days are more interesting.

6:15 AM: My dad wakes me up.

6:30 AM: I get up, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth…

6:45 AM: I take a shower.

7:05 AM: I go down to eat breakfast.

7:15 AM: I come back upstairs and get ready.

7:30 AM: I wait outside in the garage for my carpool to come (or I get in the car, if it’s my dad’s turn).

7:45 AM: I get to school, talk to friends, frantically study, etc.

8:00 AM: First bell rings; I’m in my first class of the day: Precalc. We don’t really do anything in that class; occasionally my teacher teaches a new concept; I often go up to the board to do a problem. I spend most of the class period either doing homework for another class, talking with the juniors + the one sophomore around me (generally about class ranks and stuff), or explaining a concept to someone else around me. And complaining about my grade in the class.

8:53 AM: End of first period. I walk across the school to get to my second class (all my classes are on opposite sides of the school).

9:00 AM: Second class of the day: English. We usually do some random discussions about whatever we’re reading; I generally just read a book under my desk or talk with the people around me. And I eat.

9:53 AM: End of second period. I walk across the school to my locker, where I unload/load some stuff into my bag, then I walk to my friend’s classroom. We get an extra four minutes between second and third period.

10:00 AM: I’m in my friend’s class; it’s also the class of the math teacher I had last year (he loves me). I either: A) show said teacher a new math problem for him to solve, or B) talk to my friends.

10:03 AM: I realize I have one minute left to go to my third period class, so I rush out the other door of the classroom and into my third period (which is right across the hall).

10:04 AM-10:29 AM: Read, AKA Advisory. I generally do my homework or talk during this; although occasionally I’ll actually read something (sometimes fanfiction, sometimes a legit book). I also finish eating most of my lunch.

10:29 AM: Third period (History) begins. I often spend my period doing homework for Spanish or Chemistry (actually, showing work for my Chem homework). Occasionally I’ll read a book. Other times I’ll actually pay attention in class, but it’s a bit dull, really.

11:22 AM: Third period ends. I rush to the class I was in before third period and walk with my friends to our fourth period class(es).

11:29 AM: Fourth period, Spanish. I try not to doze off in this class, usually by writing poetry (it’s too risky to do homework or read in this class). I do try to pay attention in this class though. I sort of BS my way through the activities we’re supposed to do with our partners. I drink the drink I’ve brought with me (since it’s a Tuesday/Thursday, generally coffee).

12:22 PM: Lunch starts. I either spend lunch at a club meeting or talking with my friends. I don’t actually eat lunch at this time.

12:58 PM: Lunch ends. I walk to my fifth period, Engineering.

1:05 PM: Engineering begins. I generally talk the whole class period, whilst working on whatever assignment we’ve been given, of course.

1:58 PM: Engineering ends. I use a back route to get to my sixth period class, which is pretty far away. I walk with my friends, one of whom goes to her locker.

2:05 PM: Chemistry, the last (legit) period of the day, begins. I almost doze off in this class; I’m generally very happy when we have to do a practice problem. Since I already know everything the teacher is teaching, I get really, really bored.

2:58 PM: Chemistry ends, and so does school–for most people. I, on the other hand, have Colorguard/Winterguard. I go to the nearest bathroom to change into my practice clothing.

3:05 PM: I reach the area where we gather before practice, and take my piece of equipment. We put our backpacks in the small theater and head up to a cafeteria, where the floor is covered in food bits and the tables are still out from lunch. We put away the tables and chairs, and attempt to find a patch of floor that seems a bit less gross than the others to stretch on. We practice flagwork and do conditioning (which really, really hurts).

5:00 PM: People who aren’t doing Winterguard leave. The rest of us (about half) pick up our weapons and start practicing. We may or may not learn an new piece of work for our routine.

6:00 PM: Winterguard people are dismissed. We put our stuff away and go to our backpacks, and are picked up.

6:20 PM: I reach home. I collapse on the bed, and do a bit of my homework before procrastinating.

7:00 PM: I watch an episode of TV on my laptop, then do some more homework, then procrastinate a bit. Even though I’m not done with all my homework, I pretend I am.

8:00 PM: I go down and eat dinner; I watch an episode of NCIS or two with my dad until around 10:00.

10:00 PM: I procrastinate a bit more on my laptop and read for a bit.

11:00 PM: I finally go to sleep, to wake up again in the morning.
