A disappointing envelope?

Hey guys...

I'm an out of state resident who was accepted to McCombs. Was anyone else disappointed about the size of their envelope? j/w. McCombs is sort of my back-up school (aside from UMiami...which is my extra back-up school) and I almost had a heart attack upon seeing some standard flat envelope from UT-Austin. A nice welcome packet would have been nice :/

Also, did anyone else recieve a used, torn up undergraduate catalogue through the mail? Maybe I've just had bad luck with UT-Austin, but they haven't really made a good impression on me yet...especially if their business program is suppose to be "up there". Actually, had McCombs not been ranked 3rd for marketing (USNEWS...i know, how original) I might not still be considering it.

Anyone else a bit disappointed?

I didn't even get a catalogue, I got a card redeemable for a catalogue. Last year they gave some booklet about "next steps", I don't know why they didn't give them out this year.

Oh my God get over it...if a top 10 business school isn't good enough for you then too bad, move along.

sry...didn't mean to come off that way...

no problem, I thought you were being condescending to my #1 school :)

But yeah, they can send my acceptance letter in a garbage can and they would receive no complaints from me. If Texas isn't your top choice I could see that affecting you though

haha...I hope you get in mypetmuffin! are you applying out of state?

yup, New Jersey

You must have some great stats if Miami and McCombs are your backups...where else are you looking?

i'm also looking at nyu, upenn, and cmu.... i'm so nervous about the upcomming weeks! :)

haha big envelopes? do only the really big schools do that? all the schools i've applied to here in texas have sent me my acceptance letter in a stardard small envelope

I think many colleges send out acceptance letters in larger than normal envelopes..not just the "really big schools." Miami's acceptance envelope was large, as was Georgia Tech's and Embry-Riddle's (Daytona). It could just be a Florida thing, but I doubt that lol.

Anyways, aren't things in Texas suppose to be bigger? haha :-P

Hopefully they're doin it to save money on paper and using the money saved to go towards scholarships :o

I like hookemhorn's idea

That would be nice. Unfortunately, I missed the deadline to apply for any of their scholarships. :(
