A Few of Your Favorite Things

^^^I know F. Michael well. I wonder how you know him. He is talented.

All of them. lol. Too hard, too hard - it’s usually the last one I saw.

Well, probably my favorite of D’s was Tracey in Hairspray her senior year - she was born to be Tracey, she has the same fiesty, stick up for the underdog, enthusiastic personality and she has the look too (not overweight, we had to plump her up, but she’s short and very rounded overall) and members of my family who had had reservations about her choice of career, changed their tune and were supportive - I think they didn’t really realize she actually had talent and how much she loved it, until then.

Favorite show? OMG how to choose. Actually, probably one more for Wicked here - I mean, it’s awesome, what can you say. We say it in NY and I am not sure the cast - not Menzel and Chenowith, no, but they were fantastic. My D and I were just delirious for days afterwards. Very close second though, would be the touring company of Legally Blonde that came right here to our home town! We saw it in Dallas but this performance blew it away - better energy, better venue, better audience (it makes such a difference when the audience is full of energy and excitement) It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, just high energy all the way through, it was so funny. Also the Billy Elliot tour last summer at the new opera house in Dallas blew my mind - that is such a good show. I’m so glad the musicals are going to the opera house now instead of Fair Park, I think Fair Park sucks the energy out of the performers because both Wicked and Legally Blonde that I saw there were signficantly weaker than when I saw them in other places. It’s just kinda meh. I blame the venue.

Favorite performance - oh golly that’s impossible. I’ve never seen any of the biggie biggie famous ones live on stage so I only have the cast recordings or if they were in the eventual movie to go by. Probably Topol in Fiddler…so funny and heartbreaking at the same time…but I’m probably going to think of dozens more later.

@sooz- from the same town. His mother taught and directed my D in community theatre for the six years we lived there. Love that family J.P. is awesome too.
