A few questions about the SAT2s

I’m planning on testing standby for the SAT2 chemistry and math iic exams on may 5th(even before taking the sat reasoning test). I was wondering a few things:

How long is the ‘short’ break in between the tests? Will it be 10 minutes or an hour? Can I leave right after my second test?

Can I choose the order in which I take my subject tests or is this pre-decided?

How hard are the math iic and chemistry exams? I’m in AP Calculus AB now, and I’m fairly confident I’ll do pretty well on the math exam, but even though I’m in AP Chemistry, I’m very scared I won’t do well, as I usually get Bs at best in the class. Are the problems very simple and focused, or do they involve knowing a lot of general knowledge?

Thanks,
Mike

The duration of the break depends. At my test center it was a good 8-10 minutes. And yes, you can leave right after completing the second test if you are taking only two.

You can choose the order in which you take the Subject Tests, nothing is pre-decided.

If you're in AP Calc AB, you are all set for the Math IIC, which goes up to what most schools consider as "PreCalc/Trig." The Chem SAT II is very difficult. I am in AP Chem as well and I find the SAT II test to be ridiculous. But, don't be discouraged, even though I didn't take the SAT II Chem I am sure that if you practice and look over the material a bit, you should be able to decide whether you should take it or not.

Best of luck!

How is the SAT2 physics? I'm taking Honors Physics now, and the only thing we haven't covered completely yet that I can see is circuits. We've done kinematics, rotational motion, force, optics, waves and probably some other stuff that I can't remember. If the test is easier, I might consider taking the physics exam.

From my understanding, the SAT II Physics does not allow you to use a calculator. I heard it was ridiculously hard.

When I saw how hard both the Chem and Physics SAT IIs were, I took the Biology exam. I ended up doing pretty badly on it (650), but it was better than I could have done on the other two sciences offered.

I think I'll just stick with my original plan: SAT2 iic math(which I'll hopefully ace) and SAT2 chemistry(which I'll get a 650 on if I'm lucky).

Good luck, Mike!
