I'll be a freshman at Duke in the fall, and I'm unsure about what I want to major in and what classes I want to take. I feel as though my strengths lie in the humanities - writing, analyzing, critical thinking, etc. I'm currently most interested in a Public Policy/Economics double major. I'm doing a focus, so 2.5 of my credits are already chosen, but I need some advice about what to do with the other 2. I was considering the following:

1) Econ 51 & a Foreign Language
2) Econ 51 & Math 31/32 (I can place out of 31 due to AP credit, but I probably need the review)

I'm most hesitant because I have to work extremely hard to do well in math courses and because I'm considering law school and need a high GPA. If I'm worried about math courses, should I be majoring in Econ at all? Also, how difficult would either of these schedules be with 2 focus seminars and .5 credit focus class, considering I really need a high GPA?
