A few ?s for a entering freshmen

Hi, I'm really looking into pursuing a biomedical engineering degree along with filling the pre-requisites for med school. My question is could someone estimate the number of hours I would probably have to take per semester to fill this in 4 years. Also if anybody could give me a general idea of what classes I should take my freshmen and sophmore year.

depends on the school u r going to.

I'm a BME major at columbia. i took 5 classes both semesters first yr, 6 classes both semesters 2nd yr and 5 classes both semesters junior yr...senior yr i'm planning on taking 5 one semester and 6 the next. That makes about 150 credits and the graduation requirement is only 128. The curriculum here for my graduating class required only one more class other than the required classes to fulfill the premed prereqs and that was physics lab. Again it depends on the school, but most probably u'll be taking alot of math, chem, physics, and core classes.

BME is A LOT of work. You will spend lots of time learning many pointless things, but I guess its worth it in the end, at least I hope so. For now in my intro BME class we are learning circuits stuff that EE's dont learn until junior year, the workload for this class is insane. With a BME major at most schools you will also take about 5 or 6 classes per semester, and the BME classes will be very labor instensive.
