A good peer recommendation?

Hi guys,

I have something to ask you about a peer recommendation. My friend asked me to write a peer evaluation for his admission to Dartmouth College. I know there is much time to prepare for the evaluation, but I would be quite nervous if he fails to get in. Because some of you guys are already admitted to the college and others finished applying, I would like to ask you the factors important to admission in your peer recommendations. What do you think is the important factors in the peer recommendation?

correct grammar.

Don’t exaggerate too much.

Show that you really know the applicant personally. Avoid meaningless fluff.

Don’t worry about grammar or style. That’s superfluous. Definitely think about the memories that pop up in your head when you think about this friend. Then try to see what those memories suggest about the person (qualities, quirks). Don’t talk too much about academics; they have teacher recs for that. The point is not to show how much you know about your friend, but to show how good of a friend he is. Maybe think about the things you find extraordinary about him that he take as matter-of-fact.
