A hard broken Rejectee with no chance of a future

kinda silly question-----> Can we appeal rejection?

whoa whoa ......not you too....last year 24 got in out of 1000........not too many people can do it......then more competition

Which Penn State did you get into? (i.e. University Park, Abington)

[/quote]

to tell you the truth im an idiot....this was one school i didnt too much research on....i should have applied to altoona, but i didnt know that penn state puts you on their second campus choice, so i put Erie. That was a big mistake.....
question: can anyone even get rejected from penn state? not the up campus, but the whole university....because lot of people from school got accepted there, and some of them are who have like 2.7-3.0 gpa

If you have a 2.0 and a 800/2400 SAT and you write your essays like "PENN STATE SUX WHOO U GOT PWNED THIS YEAR WHAT A CRAPPY TEAM". I'm pretty sure you might get rejected from the whole university.

^ahhahhahahhahahaha lmao.....good one

In fact, people do read the essays. My friend who was accepted ED to Virginia Tech decided to apply FOR FUN to VCU/Radford/etc and wrote his essays like: "I know I am going to be accepted, I mean.. just look at my stats! I was just wondering if you can send my acceptance letter next week instead of making me wait since I am a very busy man...etc.etc.etc..."

I saw his essays and they were real but I don't know if he ever ended up sending them to VCU/Radford. He had a 3.8 and a 1410/1600 on the old SAT I and was definitely qualified for both schools. He was rejected from both of them because he either sent those essays or did not send any essays at all.

yea.... what can i say some of us are not born to be a genious like you and your friend :)

You're a genius in your own right, BestMiler. Not many people get IB diplomas, yet you're getting one -- I think that in itself gives you bragging rights. :)

Yea, I agree. I went to a pretty good high school and even there the people who took advanced classes were seen as highly intelligent.

Most people just did honors/regular classes or maybe some of the easier AP's.

BestMiler1--

I would recommend that you consider applying immediately to Manhattan College. It's an excellent school in a decent location (pretty close to you) and according to commonap, applications are accepted through 7/1. According to US News, the deadline is 4/15, but if you do it right away, you should be fine. Its 25th-75th percentile SAT averages are 1010-1200 for English and math, so you're at the low end, but not by too much. It's a Catholic school (I don't know if that's a problem for you) with excellent engineering and sciences. Other possible schools with rolling deadlines are Rider in New Jersey and Illinois Wesleyan in Illinois.

While you have a very good option in Penn State-Erie and while I hope some of your remaining schools come through with acceptances, sending in one or two more applications might not be a bad idea.

^^ Thank you Very Much mam

i dont want bragging rights......it would just make someone else feel low, and i dont want that, because as of right now, accepted already could brag about his life at me, and then would make me feel low, and i sure wouldnt want that, therefore i dont anyone to feel low

It is pompous to brag, but what I meant to say is: you should feel accomplished, despite the circumstances, because you are an IB diploma candidate. You really have earned the right to complain about not being accepted to these places.

P.S. I suggest, that if you are truly unhappy with the school(s) you have to choose from, you take the SAT in June. Try to get at least an 1800. You should thus have a lot of schools to apply to/choose from. :)

^^ well not right now, i just need to go penn state and do well in there so i can transfer....i was hoping i could have transfered the first semester but ucb's policy is 60 credits..so thats going to be for two years

Certain schools require that you finish all your testing before you graduate HS. If Berkeley doesn't work out for you, you'll need other options. You can't set your future on one thing; it might fall apart. Have a wide array of choices and make do with them!

Some colleges require that you take the SAT/ACT by June of your senior year, because those tests were created for HS students.

i already took the sats...im a senior and im graduating this june

I know, I know...but some colleges consider SATs for transfer students. I should've been clearer. Sorry. :)

hey no problem....that would suck then, because i never wanna see the sats again lol
