A korean in need of help...in math (i know, sad eh?)

Despite the fact that i scored 5 on ap calc bc and scored 7 on IB higher level and scored 800 on math sat II...

I was not able to solve the problem on page 476 (first edition) of the BB
i can't understand the friggin' chart!

Help a brother out :)!

Type A: 8 times on the 8th hour + 2 times on the two half hours (7:30, 8:30) = 10
Type B: 8 times on the 8th hour = 8
Type C: 1 time on the 8th hour + 2 times on the two half hours = 3

A: 10 clocks * 10 = 100 chimes
B: 5 clocks * 8 = 40 chimes
C: 3 clocks * 3 = 9 chimes

Total: 149 chimes

“nth Hour” and “on the hour” mean when the minute hand is at 12 (7:00, 8:00, 9:00)
“on the half hour” means when the minute hand is at 6 (7:30, 8:30, 9:30)

7:15 to 8:45

n times at nth Hour: 8 times (at 8:00)
once on the hour: 1 time (at 8:00)
once on the half hour: 2 times (at 7:30 and 8:30)

Type A chimes 10 times per clock, 100 times total
Type B chimes 8 times per clock, 40 times total
Type C chimes 3 times, 9 times total

100+40+9 = 149 total chimes

Thanks both of you haha

Just didnt know what it meant by ‘The Hour’ and 'The Half Hour’blol
I tend to overthink/analyze and end up not being able to answer certain qyestions lol
