<p>I think it’s much more knowledge based and concrete. Might be like SAT subject tests. What do you mean by how it affects international students when applying to the States? Everyone still needs to send in a SAT or ACT score when applying to US colleges…</p>
<p>I did A levels, and you could get by with just regurgitation. Not that getting an A was easy.
I only got ABB.</p>
<p>Apparently A levels count as AP classes, but I’m not sure how far that is true.</p>
<p><em>One</em> of my English Lit exams (WWI Literature) felt like it began to approach university style essays, but other than that, English is quite different at degree level.</p>
