What colleges are applicable through the common app with no application fees?
When I applied to college, I applied to three universities, all of which were free to apply to:
Loyola University Chicago
Saint Louis University
Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio)
fordham and hofstra send fee waivers to most applicants
Is there any chance that this is an updated list?
So is there an updated list of free to apply after Jan 2014 plz
I can’t state particulars, but it seems there is a growing number of colleges that are free if you apply by a certain date or at least submit a sort of preminary appl (I think Carleton was offering this a year ago) or if you apply online.
I’m not sure if the link below will work right. If not, search “colleges common application no fee” & look for the result that takes you to the Common App pdf listing of all 700+ Common App colleges, their fees, & other requirements. There are a LOT of free ones! Go right to the source! I had to use those exact words to easily bring up the pdf in my search redults.
In addition, some colleges will send you an application fee waiver if you join their mailing list, visit their table at a college fair, or if you tour their campus.
Whitman was free if you applied before Nov 15.
if you log into common app and click the “college search” tab, there is a box you can check to only view colleges with no application fee
Rose-Hulman is no longer free, it’s $40
You missed one: Lawrence University in Appleton, WI.
Does anyone know colleges where you can self-report ACT/SAT scores as well as a free application?
@vegetarianstress colby college, kenyon college, reed college, and bowdoin college (if you are a first-generation college student or are applying for financial aid).
Connecticut College has no application fee for anyone.
this information is gold.
this information is gold.
Morehead State University no longer offers free applications. The current application fee is $30. As an addition to the list, the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky does not require an application fee.
I also advise students to ask the admissions office of the college to which they’re applying about fee waivers. Students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program often qualify for application fee waivers. In addition, some universities waive application fees for students applying at college fairs or on campus visits. Campbellsville University once invited my entire senior class on campus and allowed everyone there to apply for free despite their fee.
That just saved me a ton of time in research! Thank you!
Thanks!!
