A list of universities to apply to

Hello,

I am a class 11th student, I will soon be promoted to class 12th.
My overall class 11th percentage will be around 84%. I will give the SAT
this year and am expecting a score upwards of 2200.
Also I expect perfect SAT subject test scores in Physics and Maths.
I will take A.P. courses in Comp. Science, Maths and Physics this May.
I am interested in taking Comp.Sc as a major.
I am the president of the computer club at my school and have participated
in many debates, activities and programming competitions.
Which universities in the USA should I apply to?
(Please keep in mind that I would be needing financial aid)

I am also posting some universities that I have decided upon:-

1.Columbia University
2.UCLA
3.Princeton
4.Cornell
5.Stanford

UCLA (or any other UC for that matter) provides financial support to American citizens/permanent residents only.

Thanks for the info…

The schools that you apply to will mainly depend on your wants and needs, no one else can just recommend you schools as in India, American colleges have a personality do not come in one size fits all. I’m sorry but you’ll have to do the research yourself for finding a colleges that would suit you. The first thing you should do is make a list of things you want in college, like a specific major, amount of financial aid, location, climate, campus etc. After you’ve set your priorities straight, you can browse the internet accordingly. For e.g. If you want beautiful campuses, just google “Most Beautiful College Campuses in USA” or if you need a specific major, type “best XXX (name of major) programs in USA” On the other hand, If you’ve no idea what do you want in a college, I’d suggest reading a college guide. Fiske Guide to colleges is the best one, it has detailed profiles of over 300 best colleges in the USA, so you won’t have to worry about the trivial factors like prestige and rankings and focus more on the college itself and whether it would suit you. Good Luck.
