A model's chance at Harvard?

"Hmm, I think I read an article in some magazine about an Asian-German actress. I wonder how many asian-german actresses there are in the U.S"

Haven't you heard of Asia Carrera? :P

Asia Carrera's MENSA, actually...:)

But anywhoo I was accepted to Harvard EA and I'm just hopeful that there will be a model-actress in my class...

Various actors and comedians have graduated from Ivy schools, it doesn't hurt.

John Lithgo aka Lord Farquad: Harvard

Jon Steward: Cornell

looks like the name john helps

Who's Jon Steward?

Natalie Portman graduated from Harvard too :-p.

Why didn't you apply to harvard in the first place?

Here's how to post a pic: go to www.picturetrail.com or at least briefcase.yahoo.com or some other site like that, get a free account, and upload the pic(s) up, and kindly provide the link to the page here. :)

Yeah...you'd have a good chance if you got your scores up. Sicne you were homeschooled, colleges rely more heavily on the sat2's. If you had like 5x770-800's you'd be set. A higher sat would help, too. Because Harvard is such a competitive school, they look for exceptional academics + x-currics, unless they want to recruit you for soemthing. You've got the x-currics, so it's your academics that may be problematic. Straight A's/A-'s would help for your college grades. Did you receive any formal grade/take any special district exams while homeschooled?

Thats all,
Sleet.

rinysline- I didn't apply to Harvard as a freshman b/c I wanted to be close to home my first year. It was also easier for me to jump back and forth from acting projects in Chicago/LA ect where I live right now. However, I want to concentrate on academics for the time being, rather than acting, and that's why I've applied to Harvard as a transfer. I've actually been heavily in touch with the drama/theater people at Harvard, and it sounds really promising. I was invited and went out there for an audition in late January, and it went wonderfully; I don't want to get my hopes up too high, however.

Sleet- I never took any other tests when I was homeschooled...the only grades I've has so far are the ones I've taken in college. I'm pleased with how I did last semester, I got a 3.8, four A's and one A-. Hopefully this will help my case.

And thank you for the photo advice. I hope this works... The photos are old, nothing special. Just what I have in my standard portfolio so... Enjoy~ :)

well you certainly are beautiful and I wish you the best of luck!

one more reason to be disappointed when i get my rejection letter. almost like a preemptive rejection. the course of true love never did run smooth.

and jon stewart is from comedy central's the tonight show.

kinda lefty (gee, its TV duh) but i do try to watch his show.

well actually he's a republican..he just hates BUSH..i believe..

wow. never seen a chances thread running into 3 pages.

I'd say you're fair game for Harvard, even as a transfer. Good luck.

btw, John Stewart's from the Daily Show...and uh, are you SURE he's Republican?? Cuz after all that talk about him running away to the blue states...=

THIS is a funny thread because harvard won't give a damn of how u look

i honestly don't think u have a chance for harvard i mean your SATs are too low. Harvard expects a girl from your well off economic status to get atleast a 1500.

you sound like really hot ma.. i hope we both get in to H we can hook up lol who did u play in mr 3000

Last time I checked I heard a wild rumor going around that Harvard might possibly base an acceptance on things other than SAT. But who knows, I'm just a dumb model.

And please don't presume to know anything about my, or my family's economic status. From wherever you are on your side of a computer screen, I'm assuming you know very little.

Dude purplechick, that's an toadish statement if I've ever heard one. Hundreds of applicants get into to HYP ect. with much lower SAT's than 1500 (I only had a 1440), and nattiebee's been in over 5 movies and music videos, ect. (I know her, and I know for a fact she didn't list alot of her credits), and I'm sure that will count for something.
