I’m thankful for our new (old) house and finding good work quickly after our store was shut down, without warning, a month ago.
(along with all the things I am always thankful for… those two are relatively fresh)

Last night I played a tennis match against a team where one of the ladies was very grouchy and bossy to her partner. So today I am grateful for fun and supportive doubles partners.
Thankful we finally got the seasonably brisk temps I prefer in the fall. I was able to enjoy a nice 4 mile walk this morning before the rain arrives after lunch today.
I’m also thankful for getting out on a nice, crisp walk enjoying the scenery and fall this morning.
And still grateful our kids were able to come for a long stay. Looking forward to when we’re all together again soon, albeit briefly.
I’m grateful to have nice people to play pickleball with on a regular basis. Most of us hadn’t held a paddle before last spring, and now we play regularly 2-3 times each week.
As odd as this sounds, I’m thankful that 4 of our invited guests won’t be coming for Thanksgiving, after all. Although we’ll miss them, 17 people for a sit-down dinner was way too much for me to manage. After fretting about that for weeks, to now plan for 13 feels like a breeze.
I had to laugh yesterday - I walked in the lunchroom at work where we have a white board and someone had posted “I’m thankful for…” - for people to add to. This thread has infiltrated my workplace!
Thankful the possible snow last night didn’t happen!
I feel like I may be jinxing myself, but I’m thankful I haven’t suffered any injuries that make me unable to continue to be pretty active each day. I think my “streak” is over 220 days. As I mentioned above, I play pickleball with a group (often 8-10 show up), and so far we’ve only had a couple of falls, and no serious injuries within our group. I also ride my bikes (indoor and outdoor) and walk regularly.
I am thankful my husband is going on a two day golf trip. I love him but it is nice to have the house to myself once in a while.
I’m thankful the Costco 5 minutes has a wonderful plug in lithium rechargeable battery pack now in stock and on coupon 5 minutes from our house. I’m going to pick up one or two of them to help us weather power outages, particularly if they are overnight, so I can keep using my essential electrical medical equipment.
Deferred my colonoscopy that was due in June due to my move and had it today. Everything good and a 5 year pass - very thankful and feel like Christmas came early with best results possible.
Grateful to have had a really easy drive today for our trip to spend time with my MIL.
I’m thankful I read H’s retirement website carefully. I discovered I benefit i didn’t know he would be able to get after retirement. He gets a small stipend to help pay for health insurance, even when he’s still covered on my plan! I had never heard of it before and it’s not automatic. You have to apply, but he will be eligible. This has totally made my day.
Thankful today is a work from home day for me. Too gray and chilly to want to get dressed and head out this morning.
Also thankful the sun will be out later and I can meet my tennis buddy for an hour at lunch. Our tennis season is rapidly coming to an end, so definitely grateful for any opportunities to play.
We are thankful that our 14 year old male child has been “adulting” and acting more responsibly of late (not always the case with teenage boys).
Thankful for my Thursday night Art Class full of fun, supportive friends and a chance to be creative, and work through the frustration to the joy of artistic expression.
I’m thankful our firewood was finally delivered! Just in time, as finally the temperature is getting cold enough to have a fire. And my sons will be home from college in a few days to stack it so H and I don’t have to.
I’m thankful that after four years hunting in MI I finally got a deer. The Lovely And Talented, aka the wife, will be thankful in a couple days when I get the meat back from the processor and I grill her venison backstrap. Medium rare, of course.
I’m grateful that even though I’m retired, I have a job I can work pretty much whenever I want, and I make a fair amount more than I’d make as a Walmart Greeter :).
As I’m about to dive into several days of shopping, cooking, cleaning and setup where I might momentarily forget to be grateful it seems like a good idea to take a moment and recognize how lucky I am to have family and friends to share the holiday with. Especially thankful after speaking to my parents tonight and hearing how much they are looking forward to our thanksgiving gathering.
