“…duke has never corrected itself from the duke lacrosse hoax. they tore down the lacrosse house and paid out a lot of cash to lacrosse team as they should have.but the frenzy on campus from the students to administration and a bunch of faculty was a near lynch mob mentality , there was very scary words and behavior against the lacrosse team. but when the truth came to light no soul searching or apologies, no faculty fired nothing. just cash payouts and tearing down the lax house.”
Are you sure of your facts? I recall that the house where the lacrosse “stripper party” and alleged assault happened was a private home, only rented by the lacrosse players; not owned by the university. Did the university purchase it and tear it down? Why should faculty have been fired? And I do recall that a review by a Duke professor was quite critical (of the university) in its exoneration of the players. Finally, someone did lose his job…the prosecutor.
What do you mean it went cold? Because CNN doesn’t have it in 100 pt font on their front page?
Plenty still being written about it. But they found the person, s/he confessed, and thus the media moved on. Another black man was murdered by a cop this weekend. Bigger and “better” stories.
yes 100% certain the school bulldozed it! and it was not an alleged assault it was a hoax. (I feel weird being in the position of defending jocks but, the truth always comes first)
and yes the gang of 88 many of them should have been fired. research them if you care to.
yes I am more than certain of my facts , hopefully others not that knowledgeable but interested in defending the school will brush up on their knowledge.
fyi… the prosecutor went to jail for one day. he should have been in jail for a very long time.
romaingpseyes…the other day you said"The student’s name and face should be plastered everywhere. S/he doesn’t deserve the anonymity." so you are no longer interested in what you said only a couple days ago? why the change of heart?
It’s possible that the person who hung the noose is mentally ill. That could explain the toned-down response just as well as the explanation some people are surmising.
boolahl one of my dreams is that frats become foot notes in history. I do not want them banned, I want people’s personalities to change so those who attend college look at frats and say…you know that is not something i want to be a part of. and over time they just fade away. that said frats have nothing to do with this story.
