Just a heads-up for anyone who may not have gotten in (yet) to main campus and is attending a regional campus and then changing after the first year - by the time you are approved to transfer, after 45 hours, there is likely not any financial aid available to you for main campus other than loans, so be aware ahead of time and plan!

I just wanted to point this out because my niece applied in spring for campus change in the fall and was shocked to get only loans, even after having some tuition assistance at the much cheaper regional campus. The campus changes aren’t approved until June (if you attend regional for a year) and by then there is no money left even for the grants that her EFC would automatically qualify her for at main campus. Naive of her, perhaps, but this is going to be a real hardship for her and she may have to make some tough decisions. She can’t go back to the cheaper regional campus because the classes she needs aren’t offered.

The regional campuses are a GREAT option, much cheaper with good profs. She was very happy with it and also my kids who went there previously. But please be aware of this financial situation. My niece was taken aback. (I feel bad for not discussing this with her, but actually I wasn’t sure if this was still the case since OSU has tried to improve the aid this year - but campus change students aren’t any different with financial aid than late transfer students, she found out).

Be sure to keep that in mind and plan ahead!
