Hi All! I has a question about transferring within Syracuse. I just finished my freshman year and I am currently enrolled as falk undecided. I’ve seen a lot of forums about VPA and CAS transfers but never really falk transfers. I know that each year varies with the number of applicants they take and the gpa cutoff, but I was wondering due to the pandemic and online classes if it would differ this year as opposed to past years? For reference, I have 34 credits ( you need 30), have earned an A in WRT 105 (you need at least a B or B+), and I have a 3.549 cumulative gpa! I have mostly As with a couple Bs scattered in there, so I did relatively well this year. I also took COM 107 and earned a good grade. Do I have a good shot at successfully transferring in? I also want to transfer in as a magazine major if that helps and I guess i just need a bit of reassurance haha. (also none of the forums on iut for newhouse are super new so I need some updated advice)
Also if you have done the transfer to newhouse could you tell me about your experience?
You should talk to your advisor. He or she can give you a good idea about whether you will be admitted. I think its a strict space thing. They look at how many spaces they have and take the top GPA’s until the space is filled. Good Luck!
