a question for all engineers who recently graduated w/ a B.S.

What were your cumulative g.p.a. after the four long years?

woah, good question! (listens)

I have a 3.49 currently (4th year) and I'm predicting a 3.55-3.60 upon graduation.

wow, Mr. Payne.

mine will probably be the same, except w/ a 2 in front of the .45 or .5
after 4 yrs.

How common is it to graduate with a 3.8 to 4.0? (I know a few engineers who have that and always thought it was pretty impressive, but maybe it is more common than I thought).

Don't be fooled by what you read on CC. Getting a 3.8 to 4.0 in engineering (or any major) is very difficult. CC can give a skewed perception for two main reasons.

1) MOST people who are willing to put their grades and GPA on a public forum have very good grades and GPA.

2) SOME people lie about their grades and GPA on a public forum.

3.5

Another thing you should take into consideration is the sample population. People on CC are more likely to care about how well they're doing than the average joe.

right now,my chemE gpa is a 3.25....hopefully go to a 3.4 after thermo finals

3.8-4.0 gpa is VERY GOOD! I have 3.5 and am shooting to graduate with 3.7 next year. I'll be very happy even if it is just an A- average.
