Brief stats: 34 ACT (32 math, 35 reading, 33 science, and 34 english), 3.93 unweighted, Asian female, relatively competitive public high school

A few clubs (one of them I have a leadership position), soccer in freshman year, no volunteering/job experience yet (will fix this over the summer). No academic awards beside some school awards not worth mentioning and national chem. olympiad finalist (top 150).

Taking SAT II's in June. Based on the practice tests I've done, I'd say 800 on chem and 740-760 on Math II.

7 AP's by senior year (BC, chem, bio, econ, language, lit, world).

Just rate my schools with a number from 1 to 10, 1 being impossible to get accepted and 10 being guaranteed acceptance.

Strongly interested in chemical engineering/chemistry.
I would consider my writing ability to be decent, my essay would probably be about my chemistry passion (borderline unhealthy obsession).

A lot could change depending on volunteering. It’s great your ec’s are geared toward chem. I’d try to take a humanities sat II if you get a chance next year because it’ll show you’re well-rounded. Very impressive, so I can see you possibly getting into northwestern, Cornell, cmu, or uc berkeley if you apply to all

Thanks. Although, I think you were a bit generous for Stanford. I rated myself at a 1… maybe 2.5 if I manage to write amazing essays and get amazing rec letters— however, my writing skills are decent but they are far from amazing. There are many people with a 34 ACT and 3.9+ GPA, but many also have much better EC’s than I do.

Cornell is my first choice, how would my chance improve if I applied to the College of Engineering since females are considered a URM? What about ED?

Hey there! Your ECs could use some work but other than that, you’re awesome!!
Here goes:
Georgia Tech- 7
Northwestern- 2.5
UMich- 6
UC Berkeley- 4
CMU- 4
Cornell- 2.5
Stanford- 1.5 (Make sure you get some solid ECs or work related stuff or write AWESOME ESSAYS)

I was probably a little harsh, oh woe is me.
Chance me back?

^Oh whoops I’d give that a 4.5
