For the essay "elaborate on an extracurricular activity of your choice", it says the word limit is 150 words. Can we go over that a bit, say, to 250 or so words?

Thanks in advance.

250 may be a little much. You are almost using twice as many words as you’re supposed to, lol. See if you can edit any of it. I don’t think submitting a 250 word EC essay will ultimately influence the college’s decision, so don’t worry too much about it.

No you cannot go above 150 words for the EC one a few (2 or 3) is understandable but even 160 is unacceptable!

Common App has the main essay to show your writing talent and the EC essay to enhance and show your brevity!

No, you cannot go above 150 words. You literally cannot - the CommonApp has a word limit on the box. With that, a college or university really just wants to know how dedicated you were to a specific activity, or why you were interested in it.
