<p>The common app allows over 150 words. It's probably not a good idea to write over 160, though.</p>

<p>after you put it in, you might wanna take a look at how it comes up on the "print preview" before you actually submit it.</p>

<p>I just had that problem with 180 words. It lets you put in there, but when you submit the application the college, it rejects it. I whittled my down to 154 and it accepted when I submitted, so I think they give you a couple word wiggle room.</p>
