The College of the Holy Cross will welcome to campus an exceptional group of first-year students on Aug. 27.

The 756 members of the Class of 2015 were selected from a record 7,353 applicants, an increase of about six percent over last year. Of the 7,353 applicants, 33 percent (or 2,436) were accepted, according to Ann McDermott, director of Admissions.

The new class is the most diverse in the Colleges history, with approximately 25 percent African-American, Latin American, Asian-American, and Native American heritage (ALANA) representation.

I’m very honored/excited to be one of these students!

Me too LilyEmery!
I’m part of that 25% hahaha.
Yay Class of 2015, we made HC history :)

Lilyemery/Jenonymous - Can I ask what factors caused you to chose HC over other schools that you were accepted to? Lily, I read on another post that you had a full scholarship to Santa Clara. Thanks, Londondad

londondad: HC just felt right. There’s no other way to describe it. I went on a tour and the people were friendly, seemed happy, and I felt like I belonged there. At other schools I felt like an intruder on campus, but at HC it was just right. As for money my father is a prof at SCU (I was a Pres scholar there), so I was eligible for a Jesuit scholarship worth full tuition at all Jesuit schools except Georgetown and I got it at HC so money wasn’t an issue. HC was my first choice because everything seemed right: the campus vibe, size, and the fact that it was a LAC (big universities aren’t really my cup of tea).

i know we’ve said this before LilyEmery, but thank you for sharing this inspiration with me/us!
