A Red "D"

During the first week of February, I signed up to take two summer school classes. I now realized that I won't be taking a course during the first session because of an internship opportunity.

I went on to URSA, and I drop the course and then it showed up in with a red D, I asked somebody on my floor what it meant and they told me it is a drop that shows on your transcript.

How is that possible when I haven't even begun the summer sessions yet and why didn't URSA automatically remove it from my study list as oppose to showing up in red?

It will remain on URSA to show that you dropped the course, however, it will NOT go on your transcript.

If you actually look up the policy, summer school makes no offical indication of withdrawing from a class on your transcript (ie no "W")

Last summer I had more dropped courses than enrolled courses because I changed my schedule around after I got an internship.

but i recall reading something like, you have to pay 100 bucks for dorpping it... something to that effect.

That's if you completely withdraw from summer session. In DanielHagos's case, I believe that he only dropped one of this two planned summer classes.

Yeah thats right, as long as your still in at least 1 class your fine.

It doesn't show up on ur DPR => further proof that it won't be on your transcript

Has anyone tried using the exchange courses option or whatever it's called on URSA? It reads that I'm not supposed to use the DROP button and then tells me to use the EXCHANGE COURSES option yet that is disabled so I'm forced to use DROP.

i vaguely remembering having the exact opposite situation as you....i tried to use exchange courses (or was it exchange section?) and it told me to to use the drop feature.

Also, does anyone know when "THE STAFF" on the registrar usually changes to an actual professor?

It varies. Depends on the department and when it can find someone to teach the class. I have a friend whose professor wasn't listed until the day before class started.
