I’m trying to decide on an associates degree. I applied to my local cc but i’ve been in “verification” for FAFSA for over 2 months now. I’ve already missed the first semester and might possible miss the next, so I thought I might get the ball rolling with and online degree.
I know ultimately I want to teach college which will require a Master’s or PHD but I’m not sure what I want to teach (though math & science is out). A traditional school setting will allow me to explore my options so I’d like to take my BS at an on site school, but I’m tired of waiting so I thought I’d start with an Associates.
I found two schools I’m interested in Colorado Tech University offers an Associates of Science in General Studies for approx $24k at 18 months. Iowa Central Community College online offers an A.A. for approx $18-20k.
My question is would an A.S. in GS be better or worse than an A.A.? The A.S is 90 credits at $265 per credit all fees and books included. The A.A. is $295 per credit but only 62 credits, book not incl. Both are accredited and both offer FA and loans.
