I got a sentence reading question that I can't deal with.
Aware that his party'simage was a direct result of its distasteful policies, the candidate espoused a kinder, more, political platform.
A affable---malicious
B miserly---acrimonious
C harsh---benevolent
D amiable---pragmatic
E altruistic---humane
The problem is that I think the answer is clearly C, but according to the official CORRECT ANSWERS, it's B instead of C.

I picked B :)

Harsh doesnt correctly fulfill the requirement for “distasteful”, which is why I chose miserly.

but acrimonious doesn’t make sense in that sentence

Where did you get this question from?

Nonsense.

miserly means stingy. There is no such thing as a miserly image. A person can be miserly … but an image ??

Something can’t be kinder and more acrimonious.

Is the poster serious??? A ■■■■■???

THANK YOU!!I APPRECIATE THAT!!I mean acrimonious does not make any sense.

But as I said the anwser B is from official CORRECT ANSWERS. Is there any chance that it could be wrong?

It is definitely wrong. There should be a contrast between the two words and miserly and acrimonious both have negative connotations. The only one that makes sense is C. And was this question in the blue book? Because I feel like I’ve seen it before

There is a typo in the official CORRECT ANSWERS! Typos happen.
