<p>Because it is a major that pays very low.</p>

<p>Economics majors usually compete with business school students for jobs and typically, business school students are more competitive in the job market.With that said, a lot of Rutgers business students aren’t even getting jobs so that makes economics even less marketable. </p>

<p>Many students in econ are “business school rejects” and that stigma lands on all economics majors, deserving or not</p>

<p>if you’d like to study economics, you could consider minoring in it or doing a double major. that’s what a lot of people do, nobody really “majors” in it.</p>
