A TIP (if you're a HS senior/parent seriously considering Bama)

Keep in mind that some girls that may be honors do not want to live in the suite style dorms. If they are going thru recruitment, many prefer living closer to sorority row. Then there are plenty more that start out thinking they want the suite style then find that they are spending all of their time over at their sorority house, at dorms like Tutwiler with friends. I’ve known several over the last 3 years that have moved from suite to Tut.

Then there are kids that chose not to come back or leave before the semester is over. Students are always free to put in for a change in dorm.

The main reason UA takes you thru the suites is because they are in close proximity where the tour walks and they are the majority now vs the traditional style. You are always free to go see the other dorms, we did. UA is one of the few schools that has majority suite style dorms. Even the few that do have suites, I have yet to find one that has suite style available for incoming freshman. If being in a suite is very important to the student and parent, making the deposit early is insurance to get that type dorm.
