A to Z: What To Bring To College

Just some things I have on my list that I didn’t see:

 • Surge protector/suppressors and extension cables (6 foot cables would be best)
 • Hobby kits, such as soldering, fishing, etc.
 • Medical braces, such as back, knee, ankle, etc.
 • Lanyards for keys and access cards (My campus has access badges for the rooms)
 • Lockbox or firebox for important items and documents
 • Be sure to check that you have all accessories for your laptop, desktop, or tablet

wow, that’s like… a lot…

I’ll be referencing this in the future. Thanks!

I will certainly be cross-referencing with this list when I pack up for college… thanks!

Super helpful

Interesting post :)

Thank you kate!
I enjoyed reading this post it was very informative, thanks!

you forgot safety pins! trust me they are more handy that people realize

This is a very helpful post

Awesome List!!!

All of these lists look great! Take a look at this blog, you may find it useful. I sure did! http://smartcollegepacking.blogspot.com/</a>

As little as possible. You collect stuff over the period of the year and you don’t want to move it out.

Another useful thing was that I used Amazon Prime. Wish someone had told me about it sooner, cause it’s been a lifesaver for everything!

If you’re a student, you can get 6 months of free 2 day shipping (and free returns) on anything from textbooks to groceries to toiletries to clothing/shoes. It’s been a lifesaver for me so far, cause they ship to my dorm and I don’t have to walk a long way to carry heavy detergent or groceries from the store. Also, if you like shopping and there aren’t stores nearby, this is an easy way to buy and return dresses or shoes.

You can sign up with your .edu address: http://www.amazon.com/gp/student/signup/info?ie=UTF8&refcust=O4HI4KZVX2Y66BWATOMJ4T3DF4&ref_type=generic</a></p>

What to Bring to College has a great packing list - http://www.whattobringtocollege.com

Sewing kit is something I don’t often see on these lists but is super useful for anyone! Thanks for adding that!

Just got into Funko Pop Vinyl Figures and Mystery Minis…is it pointless to bring decorative items like that? I’m leaving all my books, video games, dvds, etc at home so I figured the extra teeny bit of space they take wouldn’t be a big deal.

Thank you:)

Really great list, thanks for sharing!

Workout gloves. I’m not even a gym rat but can’t workout a lot without these :)
