A tribute to modestmoledy

title says all. i have been following this forum for quite some time now.
than modestmelody!

oops sorry for the spelling mistake.

I totally agree! Also Rabo, and the other current Brunonians. They have been terrific representatives for Brown. I hope Brown admissions, res life, financial aid, meal plan folks, health services, student services, Providence in general, etc. etc. all know how lucky they are. :)

left out Deans, advisors, Banner, Mocha....

the lack of thanx pouring in on this thread shows how ungrateful you bastards are.

thanx a lot melody for all your help.

yes, thanks for all your help. it's probably not easy taking time out of your busy college schedule to help us.

I love coming onto forums in general (I'm just like that), and I love Brown and talking about Brown. That's why I'm on the Task Force on Undergraduate education (we had another regular who was quite qualified go for a spot on that) and am a Physical Sciences tour guide this summer in the middle of my hectic research.

Don't thank me, I'm following the example laid down by those before me and helping out when I can. I can definitely be rude and don't give certain things the time of day around here, but hey-- I'm a student, I'm not an official of any kind, so I guess I have the right to be blunt though I sometimes still must remember I am a de facto representative.

There are a lot of other great people on here-- MoattoMoat who has sorta of passed to torch to some of us, Rabo, ClaySoul (hey Rachel!), mgsinc, etc.

Hope to see some of you around since my identity is not so secret...

I'll gladly join the praise for Modest, of course - I regularly come on here and see a thread that needs to be answered, and then start to think about a response only to scroll down and realize that Modest has already given the same answer with even more detail.

Of course, all you little entering and prospective students owe a lot more to him for his participation on the Task Force than his work here. As the student on the Task Force who (a.) has an idea of what the students actually want, (b.) has a backbone, and (c.) is not there for political reasons, he's probably gonna save your curriculum - or make it even better than it is now.

One can only hope, MG (to keep your anonymity). We're actually going to start an advisory board for the Task Force (the students, that is). Keep on the look out for that email. We're also going to start a blog at the end of the summer which we will hopefully upkeep. There may be a MyCourses page in the future too...

ohhhh, a mycourses page! That would actually be good - I came to enjoy public-input mycourses pages as I watched (and slightly participated in) the discussion about Banner. Admittedly, actually having the administration follow our advice about Banner in the first place would have been more satisfying, but I gotta say that seeing the uproar on the mycourses was a great told-you-so for a few of us. Hopefully, the Task Force won't be attracting similar ire :-)

I'm glad you guys are trying to keep such an open dialog with students - it's a good way of essentially widening the student representation on the Task Force. I just hope other students actually get involved. And again, thank god someone like you is on it.

Hahah, Jason, you have a thread tributed to you...hahaha
