How much do you think selective colleges view + and -. Other than calculating a GPA do you think they scutinize over the difference between an A or A-, or do they for the most part just consider it an A.

an A is an A get over it

OMG!!! My parents also stresses me about the difference between an A and A-, and how a 3.9 is so different from a 4.0, even though I constantly tell them its no difference. They also tell me how I'll be stuck at a state university. Geez. But anyways it makes no difference. Like kcirsch said "an A is and A..."

Thank god my school transcript just has like 'A' or 'B' and no + or - signs. :)

reallly???? cuz i got a bunch of A-s.... so does that mean colleges will look at it like i got all As?

Honestly, people, please. I am pretty sure that if other parts of your application are up to par and you are challenging yourself, an a- here or even, oh no god forbid, a b+ there is not going to hurt you tremendously.

I am not worrying over an A- like omg i have all A's and one A-. Im just wondering how colleges view them. Here's an extreme example. Do you think a selective college would view a person with all A- very differently from someone with all A's

Oh no... how that would be the end of the world (rolls eyes)

Our grades are numerical grades...so they see exactly where you're at.

oh man, im 1/2 a percentage point away from an a- in 2 of my classes. oh well. that stinks.

Any one have any opinions on my first question

i really doubt they care. that is a small difference. its kind of like when people get worried with a 2330 vs. a 2400. they are both phenomenal scores either way its not a big deal. so youll be fine, i would still reccomened going for a's and not a-'s if you can. dont worry.
