So I heard that a 90-92 in a class is a 3.7 in your GPA, is this true? DO colleges view A-'s as a bad grade, or do they view it just as an A?
I’m skeptical of the assumption that an A- is a GPA of 3.7
How your grades are weighted turned into GPA values determines this depends on your school. I haven’t heard about a school that differentiates between -/+ grades. Anywhere between a 90 and a 100 is a 4.0 at my school and most other schools I think.
Either way, I don’t think this will be a big deal to colleges. As long as you generally get good grades, an A- or A+ seems to make little difference.
This is the case at my high school, but some colleges treat them as the same
Thank you, I really appreciate it.
It depends on what school you are applying to. At the top schools, it might make a difference. If you’re generally academically strong though, it shouldn’t make a difference. Just keep the grades up and get involved with ECs.
