A+ vs. A

A+ vs. A

Is there much of a difference for college admissions?

In my school, A 90-94
A+ 95-100

i would say there is little to no difference. because of the variations in grading systems, i think most admissions officers look at the letter, not what's attached to it. so an A- is the same is an A is the same as an A+. It MIGHT make a teeny difference if you had ALL A+'s, but other than that I'd say no.

Most schools (at least the two that I've been to...) dont even give A+'s....so it cant make that big of a difference...And besides, on the traditional 4.0 scale there isnt room for an A+, so most colleges may just disregard them.

If your school ranks it matters.

i disagree. an A- is different from an A+. getting straight 100's versus getting straight 93's? There's got to be a difference.

i didn't say they were exactly the same. i said it probably didn't matter very much as long as it wasn't all one or the other.

I looked at the transcript my school offers to colleges and the grades are on a scale from f-A (+ and -) so my 97 (A) gets equal weight as my 93's (A). however, my numerical GPA does not reflect that.
