A-'s vs A's vs A+'s

Is it better to have say 12 A’s and 7 A+'s or 2 A-‘s, 2 A’s, and 15 A+s’?

@Acez4Days does it really matter?

Some schools drop the +/- so as @MITer94 stated, does it matter?

On top of it, many high schools don’t have A+'s. Another vote for “Does it really matter?”

At my school, an A is an A is an A. None of this silly plus and minus business.

My school has A+ and A- but they all count the same for gpa. I used to hear that elite schools would recalculate your gpa for admissions on a scale that counts an A- as less than an A, but I’m doubtful this is true as 1.) that would be a lot of effort and 2.) given how many different grading systems there are in high schools, it wouldn’t be an effective tool for measuring candidates. So my vote also goes towards it doesn’t matter.

At my son’s school, there are no A+'s. Actually, no plusses of any kind. An A is 4.0 and an A- is a 3.5, so in his case it matters quite a lot. If colleges don’t look at minuses, then it will matter less.

In your case, if you are getting basically all A’s of some sort, I say great job!! And don’t worry about it :slight_smile:

Conclusion: IT DOESN"T MATTER. Said enough.

Is it better to fantasize that you have a beautiful or a rich girlfriend?

My daughter school don’t have +/- either. A is (90-100) B is(80-89) C(70-79) You don’t get credit for anything below C so we don’t have D.
