A warning to the parents of newly enrolled BC students

I wavered as to whether or not I should post this but decided to do it anyway. I (like you) used to be normal until I became Boston Collegized. There is no cure for this, once you succumb you will have it the rest of your life and things will never be the same again (it’s wonderful!) If your child is just now starting off to BC, chances are this will probably also become your fate but take heart, you are not alone.

Hope some of you can make use of these links, I find them helpful.

That’s if any of them have any money left after paying the nearly $60K COA of BC.

Yes, college is so expensive. Every year it gets more and more costly. And yet, it seems as though there has been an increase in the number of international students applying to US colleges this year,as well as an increase in the amount of domestic applicants. I wonder what tuition costs will be in five, ten years? What a bummer…

For you full pay parents , 42% of undergrads receive need based financial aid with average Aid package of $31,000.

You are paying over twice the cost of attending than 42% of your kids fellow students , good thing you are rich!

ADDENDUM

My apologies here. When I posted the above (A warning…) it was meant only for new BC parents. I was just trying to reach out and communicate and offer up some links which took me a long time to find myself. I posted it in the BC forum thinking that it would only appear in the BC forum. When I realized that my post appeared in the other sections, I tried to edit/delete it but I wasn’t able to do this. Taken out of the BC forum, I can see how my post appears braggadcio and pretentious. Honestly, it was only meant to be light hearted and helpful and nothing more. I know that all of us parents feel the same way about the colleges our kids attend/will attend.

No need for apologies , congratulations to you and your child for BC , a great college!
Enjoy every minute of the experience , it goes so fast.
My comment on FA is applicable to all private schools , the COA for full pay families is mind boggling!!
