Hi,
I am applying for Fall 2016 admissions at University of New Orleans in their Public History program. I think I have a decent writing sample that’s 13 pages, except for the fact that it only has five sources. Should I worry about source number or is content the key? Thanks for helping.
The content is key but the content is partially influenced by the sources. Five sources for a 13-page paper seems a little low. Has the paper been reviewed by faculty in your field? What do they say? What grade did you get on it?
It was reviewed when I turned it in. I made a 90 on the paper. It was a term paper and I never got his feedback. It’s a good paper, but I’m worried because I used the same source several times in a row. Oh, and I forgot to exclude the notes. So really it’s only 10 pages.
It would probably be a good idea for you to diversify your sources a bit and get a professor to give it a read and give you some feedback before you apply.
