Aaack, chance me please? UC/CSU

So it's almost the UC/CSU app deadline, and I'm starting to get really worried. ;_; The schools I'd considered safeties before might not be as 'safe' as I thought they were - any recommendations for other CSUs to apply to for safeties would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

SCHOOLS - intended major is Japanese.
UCLA (AHAHA- very, very long reach. >< Still going to try, I guess, and hope for a miracle?), UCD, UCI, UCSB, SJSU (don't live in SJ area), CSU Long Beach (maybe? or should I pick a safer CSU?)

RANK: 139/673

GRADES (A-G courses)
Non-weighted GPA 9-12 is 3.41, 10-12 is 3.18. Weighted according to CSUmentor calculator is 3.58.

WORK
Worked as an instructor's assistant at a math learning center 10th grade.

AWARDS
AP Scholar with Honors
Certificate of Arts Grade Examination from China Conservatory (for chinese zither)
A couple awards from small/school-wide art contests.

Aand, I think that's about it. D: I'm an asian female if it makes any difference, parents are immigrants, and putting most of my hopes on my essays - I'm writing about Japanese animation for the first UC prompt, my one-week camp counselor experience for the second.

Hopefully that's enough to base some fair chances off of? >>; If anything else is needed, feel free to ask, and thank you so much once again!

P.S. For anyone who celebrated it, Happy Thanksgiving! 8D

Looks pretty good now tbh. UCLA is a high reach others are definitely low reach to match.

Chance me please

Thank you so much! I tried to chance back - sorry if I didn’t do such a great job. XD;

thanks for your chance, ijust saw you are intend to major in japanese. ithink that would greater your chance tbh just like all other foreign languages.

also try to take sat2 japanese if can, would be a great help. pepperdine is also pretty good but quite expensive, with those scores you can get financial aids.

Yeah, I was wondering if the major would make any difference - other than the super-competitive engineering/sciences and such, I really had no idea. >>; That’s good to know! SAT II Japanese seems pretty impossible right now, since there’s barely any time to study (and the December registration deadline passed), but I agree. As for Pepperdine, I haven’t really looked at privates (too expensive!); will definitely take a look though. 8D Thanks again for the advice!

Should’ve known no one would be awake that late. 8D; Bump~

Are you a recent immigrant or is there a reason behind the grade/score gap?

@2college2college: Unfortunately, I don’t really have a legitimate reason behind the grade/score gap, other than that the AP classes I took were really difficult, and I often had the hardest teachers. D:
