Athlonmj, sex isn't really on my agenda. You see, society loses tons of potential assets every year because they got pregnant and can't finish school. I don't want to become one of those girls. PLus i'm 13, so I'm not particularly worried about it. However, if it ever does happen,. i have a choice.

I disagree with abortion- I think that if you were stupid enough to not take precautions, well, kina sucks. But that doesnt mean that I can thrust my opinions on somebody else. Pregancy is a very personal situation. How can I say what is right and wrong to a woman about her unborn child?

My mother, when she was in high school, walked into an illegal abortion happening in the bathroom. She cleaned up the blood. Abortion will happen, legally or illegaly. The question is if we want to perform the operations safely, or leave the mother to her own devices.

abortions past the 1st trimester really shouldn't be happening. if you were that dumb to not use protection, use the morning after pill, or abort in the 1st trimester, have the baby and give it up for adoption. it's the least you can do, its generally considered human life after the first few months, and aborting it then is just disgusting.

1)I'm here because I needed info about prep schools and i enjoy arguing. Unfotunately, at my schol, the kids there are hardly stimulating.
2)Laws are there to keep people from forcing their beliefs on others(bill of rights!)

And another being the freedom to choose what you do with that life.

El1jah, the problem with your post is that it brings up the debate about when life actually begins, which I think is really at the heart of the matter, because no one is for murder.

"And another being the freedom to choose what you do with that life"

Your own life, not the life of another being. I should have the right to smoke marijuana and do crack if it does not take away from the rights of others. However, when an abortion takes place, you are taking the rights away from another being.

The only problem is when birth will result in death of the mother. In this case, and in this case only, does the life of the mother take precedence over the life of a fetus.

But yes, I agree, it depends on what your definition of life is.

as i've said before, it should be considerd life after the first trimester. by then the baby has developed bodyparts, bladder, kidney, nervous system, and etc. it can kick, move its head, and feel pain. it has a beating heart, can create brainwaves, and is developing muscles. how can a baby not be considered a life then?

I'm 100% pro-choice. Choice just means the option is there and available, it doesn't force anything on anyone. BTW abortion is pretty much always illegal in Ireland.
