are we expecting some sort of notification today (if accepted) or is it probably gonna come Friday? (assuming past trends are correct here)

I know that some waitlisted students from UChicago reported getting accepted by phone today. Idk about Columbia though…since no one on CC has reported being accepted off the waitlist, I’m gonna just assume that they haven’t started calling/emailing yet (although that could very well be wrong)

Yeah UChicago has accepted people as of now, and apparently so has WashU. So is the 2 waves rumor true or false?

No idea. There is a good chance it may not be true b/c as of right now, it seems as if very few/none of the ivies have been offering spots off the waitlist.

Don’t look now, but there are a few users who just reported in the other thread that they got in off the SEAS waitlist… :D

Is there a possibility they will email us saturday? On my decisions account is says available 5/6 at 5 pm… But the letter is dated March 30th (waitlist letter)

How did you get onto your decisions account? For some reason, I cannot find the link anywhere

Congratulations to those who got off the SEAS waitlist today! Perhaps they will email CC acceptances tomorrow?

Not 100% on this, but it looks like those who got off WL were only the international students. Also MJ: My D’s letter disappeared yesterday too, it wasn’t there and then it re-appeared after 6 pm with the different date, saying “decision available 5/6/2011”, when we clicked on the letter, it was the same WL letter. Then later last night, it went back to saying “decision available 3/30/2011”. We have no idea what is happening but are hoping the first to come off were just SEAS internationals and that they have more spots in SEAS for domestic students (Maybe because internationals are a day ahead they were notified early???). Here’s to hoping and good luck all of you!

I’m a US Citizen studying out of America. I’ve been waitlisted by CC.

Do I count as an international?

Thanks.

^No, I most definitely think you’ll be considered in the US applicant pool.
I’m an international student on the SEAS waitlist, and I’ve seen that some international students have gotten in off the waitlist yesterday. Does that mean I’ve been rejected? Sorry if I sound a little stupid, but I’m not exactly sure how the waitlist works. :)

It wasn’t only international student it just so happened that two of them were!

@freakozoid

no, it doesnt mean that you were rejected. they send the acceptances in waves through may and june. they gave us a week to decide whether to attend columbia, and some will choose not to come and leave the places for you guys. good luck!

Thanks for the info, unlocked! Again congrats.
