<p>first of all, i just was wondering if anyone knows about ranking and reputation of the Cognitive and Neural systems (CNS) program at boston university specially compared to schools such as MIT, berkeley, stanford, columbia ,... .this is because besides benefiting from afaculty member like stephen grossberg, this department also has a lot of other faculties with joint appointment at Harvard-MIT HST division too. so does anybody know about the rank o this program ?</p>
<p>second of all, considering this closure in collaboration with MIT and Harvard in this CNS program at boston university, do you think one accepted to this program can transfer to HST or harvard or MIT, even still working with the same professor at boston university's CNS ? i mean how likely do you think is that ? anybody with any experiences ?</p>

<p>It's a bit hard to rank because there are not many Cognitive & Neural Systems departments out there to begin with, and really, not even very many similar programs (though depending on what your subspecialty is, there might be a lot of people out there who do your sort of research).</p>
<p>Why are you asking about transferring? If you want to go to MIT HST, apply there, don't apply to BU because you think it will be easier to get in and then try to transfer.</p>
<p>My supervisor at work is a BU CNS alum, and seemed to think it was a good program.</p>

<p>well, as for the ranking i thought may be it could be ranked among the other neuroscience programs. but if that doesnt count its fine and like i said i already know that there are great academic staff in that department.</p>
<p>as for the transfer issue, the fact is that i am talking about the what i have done. i mean the deadlines are all passed and i've not applied to HST or MIt and i've applied to CNS @ BU in fact and i'm alright with that. what i asked about the transfer was just to know about possibilities and of course getting to BU is easier than HST or MIT but i did not plan this at the day that i applied, i just thought of it when i realized that a significant number of faculty members of the CNs depArtment at BU are in some way affiliated to MIT or HST. so from what you have been written i assume that this sort of transferring is not so likely to happen and is close to impossible ! am i right ? huh ?</p>
