<p>...am I right in thinking that Georgetown asks for an (optional) photo as candidates turn in their apps? Did you all send in one? Is there a philosophy behind what kind of headshot to send? Would it help to make it a photo of Brad Pitt? :) </p>
<p>The philosophy is that it’s easier for an admissions committee member to holistically evaluate an individual when they have a face to put to a name and application. It humanizes a candidate and makes it mentally easier to think of them as a person, rather than a collection of statistics and accomplishments. That’s it. </p>
