Hey guys I have a question

If an internation student attend a 4year college in the state, NY for example, and go to a public med school in NY, is the paying a LOT ? I know that public colleges have different costs for instate and outstate. Is it the same to med school? What is the average pay per year in med school.? If I attend a college in NY for 4 years and then go to a public med school in NY, am I considered as in-state even thought I am not a US citizen?

thanks!!!

International students will be considered out of state for tuition purposes for public medical schools even if you have attended an undergrad college in the same state.

Your costs will be the same as an out of state student.

For the current costs of SUNY Downstate, see their webpage:
http://sls.downstate.edu/bursar/tuition_fees.html

Currently SUNY Downstate costs over $30,000 per semester just for tuition. You will have additional costs, including housing & food, transportation, school fees, books, mandatory health insurance. There will be additional costs for exam fees for the national (required) licensing exams.

International students are ineligible for financial aid at most medical schools and must provide proof of the ability to pay before you will be allowed to enroll.

First of all, why we are talking about NY schools? I am not even sure if SUNY accept international students. And of course you need at least around $200k in the bank before applying to ANY medical schools
