Hi,
I was just reading through some of the threads about international med school students and I knew most of the information beforehand like how insanely hard it is to get in and about having money in escrow. But what I really want is you guys opinions on something.

I'm currently a freshman in a U.S. school and I really want to get into a U.S. med school. I am transferring from a university where I have a full scholarship (a lot of reasons for this) to a school where my parents are going to have to foot the bill, but they are totally supportive and actually encouraged me to leave my current school. I know that within 4 years I'm going to have to have at least 200K in the bank to even apply to med school, my question is, is it fair of me to ask my parents to put up money for med school too? I had always intended to pa my own med-school tuition myself through loans and stuff but I just thought about how difficult it would be for a 20 something year old to get a loan for 200K one shot!

So, do you guys think its fair for me to ask my parents for this?
