about the sat2bio.. e or m?

sorry this may be a dumb question.. but for the sat2bio you only have to take either E or M right? what is the difference between E and M.. what concepts do each one cover? thanks!

E covers ecology, ecosystems and the environment.
M covers molecular biology, such as metabollic pathways.

and yes, you only have to take one of the two. There are 60 general SAT ii Bio questions, then you choose to do the 20 Ecology questions (61-80) <or> to do the 20 molecular questions (81-100).</or>

So if Person A did the M test, would they have a big blank of bubbles between questions 61 and 80 on their answer sheet and fill in questions 81 to 100?

Yup. (10 char)

thanks everyone!

which one is easier?

It really depends on your strengths, but I think the M tends to be easier.

which one is more like AP BIO, M or E?

Both M and E are covered in AP Biology, so it's hard to say. My AP Biology teacher recommended taking M, but it really depends on where your strengths are.

I personally thought E was alot easier... i guess M just never clicked with me.

Molecular looks more competitive than Ecology. Putting aside biases, molecular covers more complex material, such as photosynthesis, cell structure and function, mitosis and meiosis, etc. Ecology is environmental science, and, in my school, that's the class which one would take as an alternative to the "real" sciences.

Again, it's your decision to decide which test you'll take. If you think you'll bomb the molecular test or have a passion in ecology and can't stand molecular, take ecology. If you're equally proficient in both subject matter, take molecular. :)

What topics does the general section cover?

E is definately easier.

I know that in general, Biology-M scores are slightly higher than Biology-E scores.. But it really depends where your strengths lie. I recommend practicing a lot for one specific section and just taking that one.

before I took the SAT II biology I asked my biology teacher which test she thought I should take (E or M). She said that on the test when the guy tells you to fill in the appropriate bubbles for E or M to LEAVE IT BLANK. After you open the test book and see which section you think is easier then you can go back and fill in the bubbles for the easier section. I ended up getting a 770 on the SAT bio, (having ended up choosing M)
