About the UBC admission

So, anyone can give me suggestion on the admission of university of British Columbia? Especially questions like UBC prefers which one more? SAT or ACT? If is SAT, what is the prefer score, or is the subjects test are preferable? Please! I need some help!

If you go to this website and select your country, it will tell you what the requirements are for UBC: http://you.ubc.ca/admissions/international-highschools/

I’m not as familiar with UBC as other universities in Canada, but the SAT I cutoff for U of T and McGill is about 1800. UBC should be similar. The cutoff will vary depending on your intended major. For example, engineering will have a higher cutoff than science which will have a higher cutoff than humanities.

Thanks, also another questions for UBC still. I have heard that UBC focuses grades from 10th grade to 12th grade GPA, especially 12th grade. I also heard there are several waves of applications too. Lastly, I heard (according to my friends) that the international student (for me, I am on Guam) could use good ap scores to boost the chance of admissions. Please! SOS! It is urgent!

Yes, you should submit good AP scores.

The online application opened in August. The deadline is January 31. There are waves of acceptances (not applications). They may have sent out the first wave - usually to outstanding candidates, in mid-December. The second wave will come in early February, the third in mid-March and the final one in early May. Most internationals won’t hear until May.

Canadian universities focus mainly on 11th grade and 12th grade marks, but mostly on 12th grade marks.

Another question, I heard that the students can upload the grade (gpa, ap scores that upload in June) later throughout the senior year. So, could you explain more about this aspect? Because I have at least four Ap tests in my senior, which is thus year, and my gpa on second quarter is not as good as I think because there is one C 74 in CAlculus ap ab. According to my friend, he told me that the international students could upload their senior later (in my case, my school end in mid May. Lastly, the ap scores will not release until June. Thank for answering my question patiently.

The AP scores will not do you any good then, as the acceptance cycle ends in May. You should contact the UBC international admissions office for your other questions.
