Academic Appeal paper? Thoughts/advice?

Hi, everyone. It looks like I am going to be academically kicked out of my college (Texas Tech) and I would like to know what improvements/omissions could be made in my appeal letter. I understand that my letter is probably horsecrap now. Thank you in advance.

[To whom it may concern,

Hello, my name is XXXXXXXX. I am expecting my impending academic dismissal from Texas Tech University as I accumulated a GPA below 2.0 for the third consecutive semester. However, I am not in the least bit surprised. I fell behind in my studies early this semester and would continue to stay behind until the end. I have only myself to blame. I held an off-campus job throughout the entire semester and I foolishly believed that I would somehow be able to juggle being a full-time student (16+ hours) and working 30+ hours a week as a Pharmacy technician. The reason I worked this particular job was to gain valuable pharmacy experience in the hopes that it would strengthen my resume should I apply to Pharmacy school in the future. The pharmacy was severely understaffed so I had to take up more hours for almost 2 months until I was working about 15 hours a week. The secondary reason was to pay my rent and paying for my prescription meds, as I was diagnosed two years ago with Generalized anxiety Disorder and Clinical Depression. It should’ve fallen on me to either quit or officially change my availability. Also, with the time I did have to myself, I spent procrastinating on assignments, really only studying until a at most a couple days before exams, a habit that stifled me the previous two semesters.

If I am allowed to be reinstated, I promise you that I will perform to the standard that I know I am capable of, which is success. I understand that TTU Policy states that I am supposed to m sit out at least two semesters until appealing, but I am under severe family pressure to graduate and they have threatened to cut off all ties with me as they are tired of my constant lack of academic success at the age of 26. I will not allow my past foolish habits to impede me and most importantly I will focus and scholastic duties before all else. I recently decided not to work anymore, which will greatly allot me more time for studies and school assignments. I can promise you that time will not be squandered. I kindly ask you that you allow be to re-enter Texas Tech University.

Sincerely,
XXXXXXXX

So not my forte, so feel free to ignore my advice if something better comes along.

Well, for starters, there are a few typos " that TTU Policy states that I am supposed to m sit out"…

But the bigger issue I have is this: I see no compelling indication that you have a plan to prevent this from happening again.

You still need rent money. You still need money for your meds. How will you pay for them if you quit your job? And you have a 'constant lack of academic success at the age of 26. " (Do you REALLY want to highlight that?)

I think that a successful appeal letter would probably concentrate a big less on what went wrong, and concentrate more on what you’ll change in the future.

Is there any way you can consider going back part time? That would give you more time to work while still freeing up time for your studies.
