My cumulative GPA is a little above 3.8. I have two 800s on SAT2s (chem, math2c)
and I will take SAT1 this May. I got about 2100 on PSAT. I have fairly decent ECs.

I was going to apply for Northwestern ED.

but I guess I am fu,,ed up now.

What's chance of making NU early with red mark on my transcript...

IS it true that you pretty much kiss goodbye entrance to ANY good colleges if you have academic dishonesty record in your transcript?

Bummer. Someone at my school last year got kicked out of the IB program for copying someone’s history notes. I don’t know what happened, he left the school.

One of the local poets we were studying last year in IB English used a lot of swahili (sp?)words that we were told to google to get a meaning. Turns out those phrases as well as the rest of the poem were contained in a prose essay written and published by a Yale professor years before the poem was published. My school chose to turn the other cheek and ignore the problem. I’m sure the student who was kicked out of IB thinks he should have had another chance also.

Don’t give up hope; admit your mistake, and explain you’ve learned your lesson and hope for the best.

that really sucks… especially since at least 1/3 of the kids in my school (in AP) cheat consistently. getting kicked out for copying history notes? that teacher is a gliff! I can understand someone getting kicked out for cheating on a test but something as frivolous as “busy work” which doesn’t even measure intelligence or ability is gliff
