Academic Exclusion; what to do now?

Hello everyone,

I ended my first semester of college with a 0.5 GPA, and have been placed on academic exclusion-- basically I have to sit out for the Spring 2016 semester of college. Afterwards, I’m supposed to submit an appeal to the college as to why I should be readmitted/allowed to take classes again, but I have no idea what to put on the appeal form.
So here are my questions:
-What should I do during the spring since I’m not going to attend classes? (Moving back home ofc)
-Should I take community college classes or online classes?
-What should I put on my appeal form/letter and how likely are they to take me back?
-Should I get a job or something?

My opinion…the first thing you need to do is figure out WHY you had this GPA this term. You need to address the issues that caused your poor performance.

Until you figure out where you went wrong, taking additional courses might not be a good idea.

Did you discuss all of this with your college?

^^^ Agree with the above.

Also…you need to find out if your school even allows you to take classes elsewhere during this time.

Why do you want to appeal- why do you want to go to college, and why were your grades the way they were?

Figure that out before you start writing letters.
