Can someone help me out. I am filling out the housing options. I believe I would like to live in NW, but am not sure if there is a benefit by filling out any of the options for living learning centers or communities. What is an academic neighborhood.
Also, I work out quite a bit.can someone let me know about the fitness and wellness learning center is all about. What type of commitment is there when signing up. What are the students like who are involved in these programs/neighborhoods...?

The fitness and wellness LLC is a pretty good one. When I was a freshman, it was spread out between a few floors in Briscoe Shoemaker. They had to take a very easy one-credit class fall semester that was basically just working out for an hour, and they had free access to the mini-gym in Briscoe that is normally fairly expensive for other students. I had a lot of friends that lived there, they really liked it. It’s basically just another floor in Briscoe with free gym access.

I’d like to second what ElizaB wrote. It was the 2nd to 7th floors of briscoe shoemaker. The class was easy and the gym access was extremely nice, high recommend it. It also guarentees you a spot in Briscoe/NW.

Briscoe is going to be super awesome next year, so applying early to that dorm would guarantee you suite style living. However, be aware that floors 3 and 4 in Briscoe Gucker this year (my dorm and the FWC) are the most rowdy in the building. A lot of beefy guys who do nothing but drink.

All,

I am also interested in any experiences on the NW academic neighborhood. Would someone care to share?
